Role Model: Gabrielle of Xena Warrior Princess

Gabrielle, Xena’s best friend from the television series, Xena Warrior Princess, is an excellent role model. She is a girl who wants to reach her full potential, and she always stands up for what she believes in. Gabrielle is willing to go against the grain if she believes what she is doing is right. Gabrielle believed in doing things for the greater good.

Gabrielle also knows what she is not good at. When she left her home in Potidaea, it was not just because she wanted to travel the world, she wanted to learn how to overcome her obstacles and doing many of the things she knew she wasn’t very good at. She chooses Xena because in some ways she wanted to emulate her, and she believed Xena wanted to change and do good.

Gabrielle also loves a story that is why she is called the battling bard. She loved writing of her adventures with Xena, and letting everyone know of all the good they accomplished. Her stories lived on through the Xena Scrolls. She is not afraid to step in and try something new. Gabrielle loves to help and be part of the team. That is why she wanted to learn to fight just like Xena.

Gabrielle had many adventures with Xena, she was even made an Amazon Queen.

Gabrielle was impregnated by the evil god Dahak From Dahak, came her daughter Hope. It was very hard for Gabrielle to accept that Hope was pure evil. She had hoped because she wanted to do well, and was good, that was not the case. Xena told her that Hope had to be destroyed but she could not do it. Later this caused a rift between her and Xena.

While she and Xena traveled through India, Gabrielle decided to follow the ways of pacifism. She learned of this from Eli. At one point in her life she decided she would not kill. She gave this up during the Isles of March when Xena was hurt and no longer defends herself while in Rome.

Gabrielle learns to strategize in battle along with many other things. She carries her life on battling for good even after Xena’s death. Even after Xena’s death, it is said that Xena still walks by her side.
