Animated Cartoons

Of course, animated cartoons are generally made for children, who love entertainment of this sort. Lately, however, even adults are finding animation appealing to them too.

In fact, adults are now the target viewers of several animated cartoon shows. Time and again, we overhear conversations between two grown men talking about TV shows such as Family Guy or Spongebob Square pants.

There are 4 categories of animated cartoons: 1.) basic American, 2.) Anime, 3.) American anime and 4.) Classic. Basic American cartoons are those familiar programs like Flintstones, Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo. These shows are now cult favorites and classics as society changes face.

Gearing animated cartoon content towards an older audience is hot now. Older cartoons by Warner Brothres includes jokes that a child cannot understand, although his parent would find entertaining. Some TV shows are taken from adult programs. Like, the animated cartoon Flintstones is surprisingly from Honeymooners by Jackie Gleason.

For many years now, the Japanese animated cartoon style called anime has become rapidly popular. Some of these cartoons like Digemon and Pokemon are for children. Others have adult themes like Inuyasha and Full Metal Alachemist.

The newest trend I see in animated cartoon is American Anime. This is popularized by shows such as Anime and Teen Titans. These style combines the use of the correct bodily propertions with the traditional anime elements. Animes usually have exaggerated facial expressions and huge eyes.

Animated cartoons of the classic style are those done by Don Bleuth and Disney. These are more realistic and require an animator to study the character in depth. Movements such as  a sitting cat’s tail is important. Good examples of this delicate creation are Snow White &  the Seven Dwarves and The Secret.

Indeed, animated cartoons came a very long way. Entire TV networks are dedicated to cartoons. Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network show cartoons virtually 24 hours a day. Fox’s Sunday line up is devoted to grown-up cartoons life Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad.

Animated cartoons will forever be related to our childhood. Thus it is heartwarming to note that as adults, we are still entertained by this art form.
