Family Guy vs. The Simpsons

What I found similar in both these cartoons is they have fathers, who are the main characters of the show. The fathers are both drunks and some what stupid. Yet they still provide for their family. Their stupidity is what keeps the show going because the dumb things they do puts them in many different plots. The mothers are both stay at home moms and usually always responsible.They have their things they sometimes do to get there rush as a house mom. Marge of the Simpson’s is one who likes to gamble and Louis of Family Guy liked to steal. They don’t have these rushes for long because then their families would fall apart.

The children of the shows both contain a daughter, son and a baby. The daughters are both smart students and not very popular in school. They also are closer to their moms then their fathers but at times they both have their father/daughter moments. The sons are both not very smart and they also pick on their sisters and pull pranks on others. They also help in their fathers funny yet not so smart activities. As for the babies, Stewie and Maggie, the one thing that they have in common is that they can both handle a gun.

The shows have a lot in common but you have to watch it a lot it notice it. They both use famous people in their shows and they use movie spoofs as well. Both shows usually use a similar story at times or teach the same moral lessons. One that I watched recently was about caring and spending time with their wifes because they can sometimes take them for granted. Another one was learning to spend time with their children cause they need a good parent/child relationship. Even though the shows may be stupidly funny at times they sometimes have a good moral at the end.

The differences between the shows are that Family Guy uses more clips of past things happening and not just things that happened to them but happened to others usually to famous people and are usually very exaggerated. The Simpsons seem better for family watching because Family Guy can have some crude humor at times. The art styles are also different. Simpson’s, the Caucasian people are usually yellow as for family guy they have a beige color. Other then that it is hard to notice a difference between them.

Both the shows are very funny and some say that Family Guy is a copy of the Simpson’s but to me its like watching two sides to one crazy world. I believe both
shows can stay on the air a long time as long as they can keep being funny and having a good moral lesson in the end.
