The main character of the story. His story starts when he moves to Nankatsu where he makes many friends. He lives with her mother since his father is a sailor. He always aims to be the best. He starts playing soccer in Nankatsu team. Since he is a very talented in football, Roberto transfers him to a Brazilian club and then he moves to Barcelona.

Genzo Vakabayashi:

First strong opponent of Tsubasa. He aims to be the best goalkeeper. Tsubasa meets Vakabayashi after scoring unbeliavable goal to him. In a short time, they become good friends and plays together in Nankatsu. His talent and success as a good goalkeeper moves him to Germany. In Germany, he meets German’s fantastic player Schneider and plays against him.

Ken Wakashimazu:

Fantastic goalkeeper of Tsubasa series. He is the sttongest opponent of Vakabayashi. He is good at both goalkeeping and fighting art. His story starts in Meiwa team where Hyuga plays. As soon as he participates the game, he keeps a penalty shoot and moves his team to the final of cup.

Kojiro Kyuga:

Second main character of Captain Tsubasa. He plays as miedfielder and striker and is known with fantastic shoots. Since his family is very poor, he sells newspapers and milk. Throughout all episodes, he plays against Tsubasa and see him as the most important opponents. His talent moves him to Italy. Likewise Tsubasa, he aims to be best.
