Like most fans, I was excited when ABC Family announced a “new season” of Gilmore Girls. There may not be a season eight in the works, but fans are still in for a treat.
How this generation’s hottest T.V series showcase New York fashion at its best. catering to fashion and climate and body shape.
Wherefore art our very own Gilmore Girls? Just when I thought it was safe to tune in on Tuesdays at 8 pm, E.S.T….our Lorelai and Rory are, regrettably, not “themselves.” I have been wishing everyone in our beloved Stars Hollow a better fate than splintered, predictable plot turns, off-center direction and an occasionally witty one-liner. But that’s all we’ve got.
Taylor and Kirk are running things in town; Luke’s wearing a scowl. And things in Stars Hollow (and at Yale) seem less forced, more natural and authentic than previous episodes this season. So will we all live happily ever after?
Where are the pods? It’s Invasion of the Gilmore Girls Body Snatchers. Everyone is a little “off”, especially Lorelai, who can barely squeeze a joke out of her stilted dialogue. Too much syrupy sentimentality; if this were Seventh Heaven, it might work…but these are our Gilmore Girls…
Is it the sixth or seventh season? Doesn’t matter. “Gilmore Girls” was a smash at times with its original creators at the helm. They have taken off…but there’s still hope.
