So, I was a bit surprised to learn myself that most of the people on my "friend list" were missing. Where do they go; why did they disappear…
Disappearing Friends…
I am certain most of us have heard that some friends come, some go and some stay for the ride. However, in this instance, I am referring to my friend list here on Triond and the only way I really noticed that many “friends” were missing and had disappeared was due to the fact that another Triond member made this comment. I didn’t think too much of what this “friend” had said about their list, but decided just for fun, to check out my own! Wow…
Soon I will mark the one year anniversary of joining this site and to my chagrin, so many “friends” have gone away. I just wonder why and how and if there has been yet, another “glitch” in one of Triond’s systems to cause this or am I a target, or another thought is what if these people “unfriended” themselves from me? Hard to tell, isn’t it?
Selfishly, I would like to believe that a problem lies within this system, as I do not believe I have ever offended anyone on the site and would never intentionally be mean, hurtful or negative! My nature is one of kindness, humility and generosity – not the contrary.
Am I alone here on this oddity or is this a more widespread issue than I am aware of? Can anyone provide some light to this latest occurrence? I will refrain from messaging the administrative folks here on site, as they seem too preoccupied to answer any previous questions I have posed and thus, it would be a waste of my time and efforts.
So, I guess I am rather curious as to who still has their same circle of friends and who does not. If nothing more, my wonderment has really been overly quizitive these past few days…any enlightenment would be most welcomed.
nice share..
Sorry to hear about this. I haven’t noticed this with my friends list.
I Like It
Therec are a lot of people with articles on Triond who have not been active for more than a year. I would like to think that these people still read our articles but don’t have time or inclination to write. But I think that is not the case. If you do a search by content you can see that many of the articles that come up are by no longer members.
will they really go though?
I myself have stopped publishing much in here due to the fact that even when I publish stuff my views don’t amount to much anymore. They went from 400-500 views a day to no more than 20 a day now. I think a lot of people are doing the same, or even leaving triond all together.
My very small circle of Triond friends is still the same after about a year at the site. They still post and still comment on some of my posts. They are nice people and I enjoy them very much.
oh! Is it possible ?
Hmmmm. I’d better go check my list too.
people come and go..so true you are such a nice person… don’t worry if one hundred go , 500 friends are on the way ..
Hmmmmm. I’d better go check my own friends list now.
Triond earning has dropped drastically for many. Triond traffic has also gone down heavily. And Triond never listens to these all, so many left. I love Triond and can’t leave Triond.

Nicely written poem…Thanks.
dear, there could be a lot of reasons for this. One which comes straight to my mind is the increasing number of friends, meaning as one adds more and more friends then their newsfeed becomes overloaded and articles compete for attention a bit like models on the ramp..only seconds to capture the attention of millions.
hey and I’ve experience the same problems too!
I just checked my friend’s list. Everyone seems to be still there, but I noticed something else that was strange today. I always chceck the profiles of my new fans, and one of them was no longer there “the profile does not exist” is all I got. So, something is going on…who are the dissapearing folks? Do they have anything in common?
Triond’s rating by Google has gone down and so are our views and earnings, but also Trionds”, maybe they are removing those who post any faulty content?
Many have gone on. Then again, such is the thing for anything. People sign up, get all gung ho and then after a month, they give up. And let’s face it, if you stay at the website, this can beat you down if you’re not prepared.
Its Sad to know that many have left Triond, but do not hold yourself responsible,as we all know that Triond is not doing much to make people stay here.
Also,i agree with Avissado, just adding new friends will only diminish the dear ones from news feed.
So i’ve started messaging my friends to inform me once they post a new article,so i dont miss out on them.
Cheer up kitty,
Let’s not give up!
It is sad—many have gone to other sites–I keep coming back though
you are not alone
thanks for the information
nice article
wowowwww
This is sad, but many people are leaving the site lately. I think it is a combination of things – less time to write & read, harder to get view & A big drop in revenue.
It is sad, but many people are leaving the site due to several factors:
1) Less time to read & write.
2) Harder to get viewer.
3) Big drop in revenue.
I do question how committed these so-called friend are Kitty, because many of mine – unlike you I have to say with gratitude – FAILED to byu my e-books, demonstrating very well just how much they really think of me. You are not alone in feeling lonely at times, and let down.
I don’t think you are alone. People come and go when they find there isn’t a lot of money to be made here. Others get tired and fade away.
very good article. i do not know what to say. many people come here because of money and maybe they go away. i am not too much here because of money, i love to be here and i love to help people. but i do not know for this what you say. i do not know why someone will cancel friendship because all people are here good people, at least that people that i know. do not worry here is much more people who are good friends and they for sure love to help
Good piece. I’ve wondered about this as well.
My list of friends is pages long, but I only hear from 10-15% of these people consistently – and then there are ones who sent friend requests and I followed them for a while, but I never heard from them ever again. So, the problem of disappearing friends seems to be a common for many Triond users.
just been busy, kittyk…
Well, you just acquired a new friend:)
please, don’t be sad about loss of friends on here… for those who leave Triond, you’ll see new writers on here.
People write for different reasons. For some of us, we take writing seriously and branch out, however, some realize no matter where one post their work… there will always be a complaint.
You know where i am, Friend!
I disappeared for a while too
– close to two months or something like that I think … Anyway, my friend list has been more or less intact for the past year or so. But I have only few people on my list …
