Lucy Lawless is pushing her personal and professional boundaries once again on the current Spartacus mini series. Spartacus: Gods of the Arena is a prequel to the immensely popular Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Filmed as a prequel in large part due to original star Andy Whitfield being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Whitfield was announced cancer free and filming had started on season two when his cancer returned. He has been replaced by Liam McIntyre.

While Whitfield will be missed, to many people the real draw of the series is Lucy Lawless. The former Xena had kept her bosom, a closely guarded and well concealed asset up until the first season of Spartacus. In Spartacus, Lucy delighted her fans not with just a brief glimpse, but with a near constant display of mammalian magnificence.

Lucy Lawless was not the only beautiful body on display but she was the most eagerly anticipated. Fans were treated to not just nudity but energetic sex scenes featuring Lucy’s character.

Now in the prequel we have a new onscreen first. Lucy Lawless in a three way nude love fest with a female character. The scene features Lawless, John Hannah, and actress Jamie Murray. Hannah plays Lawless’s husband on the series. Murray plays Roman socialite Gaia.

Murray is no stranger to television and nudity. She guest starred in season two of Showtime’s Dexter. On Dexter she was described as an “English titty vampire” by series co-star Jennifer Carpenter. Spartacus fans had no doubt Ms Murray’s goods would be on display. However fans could only dream that Lawless would do her first nude lesbian scene with Murray.

Xena the series that brought Lucy Lawless fame had a large gay and lesbian fan base. Characters Xena and Gabrielle were long believed to be in a relationship, although the series played coy until the final season. Needless to say those fans, as well as her hetero fans finally feel their wait has been rewarded.

Fans can only wonder how much farther Lucy will be willing to go. At publication time only three episodes of the prequel are left.

Still despite the end of the first season, Lawless is reportedly being brought back for season two of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. With her husband dead, and betrayed by her lover Crixus will she still find opportunity to get nude?  Hopefully some other starlet will join the cast to frolick nude with Lawless.  The fans can only hope she finds cause to bare all.
