Here are the biggest celebrities to begin there career on Saturday Night Live.
Mike Myers began his career on SNL in 1989 and remained on the show until 1995. Upon leaving the show Myers went on to direct and star in the Austin Powers movies and voice Shrek in the movie Shrek.
Jimmy Fallon was one of SNL’s youngest and brightest stars. He started on SNL in 1999 and departed from the show in 2004. He has gone on to star in several movies and succeeded Conan O’Brien as the host of Late Night.
Chris Farley was an immediate fan favorite when he joined the cast in 1990 and was considered one of the “Bad Boys” of SNL which included cast members Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Farley. Chris left the show in 1994 to pursue his film career appearing in numerous movies. In 1997 Chris Farley passed away the cause of death being an overdose.
Ben Stiller began his Saturday Night Live career in 1988 and only stayed until 1989. Ben Stiller has gone on to lead a very successful movie career starring in such films as “There’s Something About Mary” and “Dodge ball”.
Best known for playing Elaine on Seinfeld. Elaine was a cast member of SNL from 1982 to 1985.
Will Ferrell stayed with SNL from 1995 up until 2002 when he left the show to start his movie career. During his stay on SNL he appeared in movies such as “Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me” and Zoo-lander and upon leaving went on to star in movies such as Anchor Man, Elf, and Step Brothers.
Bill was a crew member from 1976 to 1980 and went on to star in a slew of movies such as Ghost-busters and Caddy Shack. Murray won a golden globe award in 2004 for his role in Lost In Translation
Robert only appeared on the show from 1985 to 1986 but was fired because of the shows low ratings. He has had a very successful movie career and branched out to many different movie genres unlike most SNL cast members.
One of the funniest actors to ever grace the stage of SNL Eddie Murphy has started in dozens of films such as 48 hours, Beverly Hills Cop I & II, Norbit and lent his voice to Donkey and all 3 Shrek films. Eddie was a cast member from 1980 to 1984.
Adam is probably the most consistent actor to start on SNL. His film career goes as far back as 1989 and he has almost consistently appeared and star in films to this day. Adam stayed on SNL for 5 years from 1990 to 1995.
