I Love Retro TV

I love watching the retro TV shows!  Beverly Hillbillies, Andy Griffith, Leave it to Beaver, Happy Days, and just about all the old shows.  Often times it is not really the show itself that I am watching, but it’s the stuff they have in the show that pipes my interest the most. 

It’s fun to go back through the years and be reminded of what the times were like.  The clothes that they wore and how they fixed their hair.  The pictures on the walls, like the butterfly collection on Sonny’s bedroom wall in The Beverly Hillbillies, and the pictures of clowns on Wally and Beaver’s wall.  The different nick-knacks that they had.  The different appliances setting on their kitchen counters.  And the lamps, (I love lamps!), once I seen the exact same lamp that I had while watching Bonanza! And with today’s TVs, with the pause and zoom buttons, it’s even greater.

I even love listening to the music that each show plays.  And seeing the actors and actresses that have played in different shows is fun to figure out.  It’s like a contest between my fiance and I to be the first to spot somebody, and know what other show they played in.

Besides, I still chuckle watching Granny waving “good-bye” at the end of The Beverly Hillbillies!
