Desperate Housewives

The ladies of Wisteria Lane are back. Here are my thoughts on the episode.

Synopsis:

It’s six months later. The Applebys are gone. Mike’s still in a coma. A new mystery with Orsen started. Tom and Lynette bonded with his daughter Kayla. Susan meets a new guy. Gaby was waiting on her surrogate to have the baby. She and Carlos are in the process of getting divorced. Edie was trying to sell Paul’s house.

Orsen:

Orsen’s wife, Alma wanted to leave him. It wasn’t explained why she wanted to leave him. You had to assume that he was a terrible husband. This really wasn’t that much of a stretch considering how crazy he appears. When she tried to leave him while he was on his way to work, she had a problem. She had a parrot that ended up flying out of its cage when she tripped and fell. When she tried to get the parrot back into the cage, it was too late for her to leave. Orsen ended up coming back home and catching her. It wasn’t shown to the audience, but he ended up killing his wife. He let his neighbor, Carolyn think that Alma left town. Little did he know, Carolyn was on to him.

Bree:

She became engaged to Orsen after only six months. She knows very little about him. She didn’t know that he was seeing her while he was married. Considering what she went through with George and the sex addict, you would think that she would have been more careful with the men she choose.

When Bree and Orsen threw a party to announce their engagement, Carolyn showed up. She told Bree that he murdered his wife. She didn’t believe Carolyn. That was a stupid mistake. Naturally, Carolyn will end up dead and who knows how many others will die before Bree wises up to Orsen. Bree insists on making one mistake after another when it concerns men.

Baby:

She had to wait on Chow Mae hand and foot because of how far long she is in the pregnancy. Needless to say, Gaby was tired of it. She threatened to have Chow Mae deported once she had the baby. This made her decide to run away from the house. I have a nitpick about this. Chow Mae said that the doctor told her not to move unless she had to go to the bathroom, but she had the energy to leave Gaby’s house.

Gaby was also talking to her divorce lawyer. She wants a divorce from Carlos because he had an affair with Chow Mae. Can you believe her nerve? She spent the majority of the first season cheating on him for John, but he didn’t divorce her. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, she doesn’t like it. She even complained to Carlos how her American dream won’t come true because she has to be a single mother. If she’s worried about that, then why get a divorce?

Lynette/Tom:

They are dealing with problems from his daughter’s mother. Tom and Lynette want a relationship with Kayla, but Nora is standing in the way. She insists on being around while they are with her. In the episode alone, she forced her way into a family picture. She got upset that they had a party without telling her. I think she might be trying to come between Tom and Lynette so that she can have him for herself. If this is her plan, Lynette might make it easy for her. If she continues to have a fit whenever Nora is around, she may drive a wedge between her and Tom. He and Kayla are caught in the middle, but Nora and Lynette don’t seem to understand that.

Susan:

She has been taking care of Mike while he’s been in a coma for six months. I wonder how long he will be in a coma since James Denton complained about what was going on last season. This coma storyline could be the kiss of death for him. Susan’s even interested in going out with another man. She met Ian at the hospital because his wife is in a coma. In case you thought that Susan wasn’t going to be klutzy in this episode, she ended up spilling her smoothie on Ian’s wife. I guess it wouldn’t be Susan if she weren’t being a klutz. I find it odd that Ian would be trying to make a date with Susan while his wife is in a coma. It’s also weird that Susan would accept a date from a man who would do this.

Edie:

As usual, she didn’t get much to do in this episode. She was trying to sell Paul’s house.

Random thought:

The women actually had scenes together in this episode. They didn’t have too many together last season. I liked seeing them together again. It’s rare when all four of them are in scenes with one another. I read that the writers wanted them to have scenes together so hopefully that will continue.

That’s all for this week. I will be back next week with more thoughts on Desperate Housewives.
