Walter Cronkite

A Master Newsman.

Probably to the younger generation. They don’t hardly have a clue to this great newscaster. I think next to Edward R. Murrow, he more closely related to the eye network. Which is CBS or Columbia Broadcasting Network. He was precise and straight forward with the news. I think he mainly did his on research, where today, we have interns doing the investigative reports. Where if there’s an error the newscaster can tossed the blame.

And this gentleman wasn’t afraid to voice his support against an unpopular war that was killing many soldiers of the sixties. And anytime you speak negative against any war. The war mongers act like you criticize them When in reality you’re supporting them from a different perspective. Like all old school reporters who have retired or are now deceased. They are the measure to all new generation to measure their reporting skills too.

A good reporter knows the job, he’s trying to relay to the masses.

Goodbye Walter Cronkite, there will never be another one anywhere close to you. At 92 years old you finally bid us goodnight.

You who spoke out against the Vietnam war as waisting our American soldiers for a lost cause. Even MLK Jr. spoke against the war. But you who been their and could tell us first hand experience was to us a great source of information.

With corporations owning the networks I doubt anyone afraid to speak against anything today. It’s the fear factor syndrome.
