American Idol Contestant Assessment

1.  Jackie Tohn – Forgettable.

2.  Ricky Braddy – Boring.

3.  Alexis Grace – Good voice.  Too pale.  GET A TAN!  Or don’t wear black again.  Don’t wear dark colors for makeup like black and red. They make you look paler. Try Mac’s flattering, composure, or café latte, or spray on a tan, please. 

4.  Brent Keith – Voice not good enough, no star quality.  Would not pay to see you sing.  Disagree with Randy, agree with Kara about “safe song”.  Disagree with Paula about “can see you as a country star.”  Totally agree with Simon on “Forgettable and not original”.

5.  Stevie Wright – Shaky start.  Sounds nervous.  Wrong song.  Hard song to breathe correctly to.  Agree with judge’s assessments.  Doesn’t look like a star.  Hair needs more body, looks stringy and oily.

6.  Anoop Desai – You need a better haircut, less beatles, more Sharukh Khan.  The height distorts your face.  Trim the brows.  Performance needed more soul, could barely hear you above the background singers.  But you definitely have that star quality.  Performance was not perfect but I think I’m a fan just the same.

7.  Casey Carlson – Pretty girl, awful bangs.  Reminds me of Blair on Gossip girls.  What were you thinking when you put that dress on?  Song is too old for you and does not showcase your voice.  Over-performed with movements.  Kara took the words right out of my mouth about the weird motions.  Needs polishing.  The singing was not atrocious like Simon said, the voice was not jarring, it was just, not right. 

8.  Michael Sarver – Couldn’t hear him over the background either.  Something’s really wrong with the audio guy tonight.  The dancing is all wrong.  Lose an inch or two from the waistline.  Disagree with Paula about the “real good job”.

9.  Ann-Marie Boskovich – Cute waitress.  GREAT dress!  Good chorus but a little lacking in soul on the first verse.  Beautiful voice.  More sexy needed though.  I can hear the beautiful voice but I agree with judges that Natural Woman was too good/big for your sweet voice.

10.  Stephen Fowler – Keep the hair off the face, up and away.  Love, love, love the napps.  Voice a bit too sharp for that Michael song.  You sang too slow for the background.  Felt like you were always playing catch-up.  Messed up on the rooooooooooooooooooooooock, voice broke.  Surprised Randy said high note was the best part.

11.  Tatiana Del Toro – First off, Love the name.  Great eye makeup, poor lip color choice but it matched the dress.  Had a country twinge on a Whitney song.  How many times do these contestants have to be told not to attempt Whitney?  I’m very surprised at the positive judge reaction.

12.  Danny Gokey – Delayed too many parts of “hero”.  It was like pulling teeth getting you to finish singing a word.  Not bad, not good, just okay.  That was not “blazing hot”, “incredible”, nor “stellar” as the judges put it.  “It wasn’t fantastic” from Simon Cowell was the most honest judge opinion.

But save Tatiana #11 for the drama.  I wouldn’t mind switching 9 for 11.
