Carrie Underwood

Well she actually can sing! Carrie won Season 4 and in my opinion is the best talent American Idol will ever produce. Loved her from the first time I heard her sing. She hails from Oklahoma and is a true American beauty. Not only is she the most successful American Idol contestant and winner, she is already one of the most successful recording artists of all time.  Carrie is already a multi-platinum recording artist and a multiple Grammy Award winner. She dated Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys for a bit and might go out with Olympic Gold Medal Champion Michael Phelps (they’ve been texting each other) but she might stay away to protect her image after his marijuana incident.

Katherine McPhee

I’ve still got McPheever! Katie finished 2nd to Taylor Hicks in season 5. In my opinion which of course has nothing to do with her stunning looks is that she should have won.  I’m not a fan of Hicks and reportedly neither is America as he has not been overly successful selling albums. Mcphee has not been that successful herself selling albums but she was named one of People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People in 2007. She has battled eating disorders in the past but looks great today. She is trying to break into the movie business and is slated to star in two independent films in 2009.

Kelli Pickler

She’s charming in a Larry the Cable Guy kind of way. Another beauty from season 5 where she finished 6th. Kelli is the Jessica Simpson of American Idol as she often comes across as a little ditzy. She has had some success as a country singer with a Gold album, “Small Town Girl”. She has reached semi-celebrity status for sure as she was a corespondent on this years Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve Show and she recently signed as celebrity spokesperson for Sexy Hair products. On the celebrity edition of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, she said she believed Europe was a country and doubted that Hungary existed.

Kristy Lee Cook

The wrong Cook won last season! (OK maybe she can’t sing that great) Kristy finished in 7th place in 2008 but was first place in looks by a long way. She and her good looks hail from Oregon where she reportedly lives in a log cabin today. After Idol she signed with a record company but has since parted ways with them and is currently trying to sign with Universal Music Group. She is better looking than Kelli Pickler but lacks her wacky charm and charisma. She is more a model type personality than celebrity personality. She does ride barrel horses though.

Kelly Clarkson

Remember back in Season 1 when you knew she was going to win from like day 1 because she was the only contestant who could really sing? Kelly has gone on to have a fantastic career as she has sold over 56 million albums worldwide. In 2008 she was the 8th sexiest woman of the new millennium on VH1. Her latest single, “My Life Would Suck Without You” has just made it to #1 on the billboards on January 28th. She did star in the absolute bomb film “From Justin to Kelly” right after winning Idol but she remains a bombshell and is pictured here in Irag where she entertained the troops.

Clay Aiken

OK I know I shouldn’t have but couldn’t resist! Aiken finished 2nd to Reuben Studdard in Season 2.
 ”Shocked” the world when he announced he was gay. Seriously he didn’t shock anybody but he sure got a lot of publicity. Was there anybody out there who wasn’t replacing the Cl with G in his name while he was competing?

Maria Jose Castillo

Maria finished 2nd in the American Idol Latin America Contest in 2008. She hails from Costa Rica. Despite finishing 2nd Maria was given the same prizes as the winner last year. Who can blame them? With her looks she will probably outsell the winner even if she is a lesser singer.

Showed up for auditions this year in a bikini. She is a former Hooters Girl who went to Hollywood to be famous. She got her 15 minutes and maybe a little more because the judges put her through to the next round. She’s pretty enough but can she really sing?
