Bow Out of the Show and Out of Your Family’s Life, Jon Gosselin

Unfortunate moments in the lives of everyone in Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Jon Gosselin of Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad was photographed again, at around 2 a.m., leaving a hangout lounge with another woman who happens not to be his wife and ultimately urged his “babe” of a friend to get in his car when the cameras started taking notice.

Of course an explanation, short of an apology, was personally issued.  He, however, made sure that he has a very cerebral explanation that just because he is on tv doesn’t mean he’s going to “end his friendships”.

Well, Jon, why don’t you start cerebrally thinking of how to explain to your eight kids (who lives with the camera each and every minute of their young lives just so you would have the resources to feed them) the reason the moment your network’s management let alone your show’s producers start thinking twice about your show? Jump the bridge alone if you want to but don’t take anybody with you.

Reality tv is really hard so much so when you’re just an accessory and the entire focus is mainly that of the mother and your eight kids that it can shrink the size of a male ego leaving it as big as a pea.  But what about the so-called “friends” of these people? Don’t they also know of the very vulnerability of their celebrity supposed-to-be friends?  Don’t they know that they also have to be careful, decent and intelligent enough not to implicate them?

I wasn’t born yesterday and I would stand corrected if I’m wrong but this so-called “babe” of a friend is in for the kill for that 15-minute-fame.  Who could blame her with life these days? Everyone has got to be a little wise in earning a credential or two even if it is supposed to be the so-called “babe” at 2 a.m. in a lounge of a multi-producer of the human species Jon Gosselin.

The first caught-in-the-act Jon was photographed in February at a bar with two college-aged girls.  That wasn’t yet worth the time and effort to comment about.  Jon and Kate’s show Jon & Kate Plus 8 needs a little spice for a more typical family life.  It had been an almost idyllic show for 2 years and 92 episodes already.

Sure, maybe Jon  was at the wrong place at the wrong time that very first picture suggesting of an inappropriate behavior of a celebrity father with 8 kids was taken.  He took a drink, college-aged girls saw him and asked for a picture.  That was a little unfortunate.  How do you turn down fans (?) anyway if you’re not really a big star? Nobody wants to be headlined as somebody full of airs already when he doesn’t even have the looks and the talent to turn down amused people, right?

Publicity stunt? Of course, that crossed our minds.  That’s why nobody paid attention to that very first “lack of judgment picture”.

But to cut the musings short if such compromising pictures were snapped again three months later Jon is really trying to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  He may even be trying to end his reality television show, his marriage and maybe his future.  Who would want to take a chance anyway with a guy like that?  He doesn’t think and even manifests the inability to.

My only decent (though unsolicited but time-tested) advice to Jon and any other man caught in the same position is abide by the gentleman rule.  Do what you have to do with decency.  Go home every night and stay home.  If you want to go out go out with your wife.  If you would prefer to go out with friends be sure to be photographed with them and not only with a member / members of the female species.

If you want to end your marriage end it right ahead like a man and don’t make any other excuse of an act to ruin your future, to shatter your daughters’ views of a man and to give a different meaning to the word hero of your little boys by playing with “desparate” girls willing to be called a left-over residue catcher of a woman who would soon decide to let you go.

Your kids deserve more than that.
