Castaway

The new series of “Castaway” lacks everything that made the original series
such a success i.e. interesting characters and exciting viewing.

Instead of the show being a social experiment, the format is just like another rehashed reality show that involves watching annoying people trying to antagonize each other. The discerning public deserve better than this.

Every castaway has to swim to the island from the boat, along with his or her belongings. This is a bit much for one contestant who is about 18 stone and looks like he has never done any exercise in his life.

Another particular contestant takes great enjoyment in disagreeing with everybody and everything. His selfish attitude results in causing a lot of tension that puts pressure on the group.

Danny Wallace, who presents the programme, does nothing to create any interest and there is no real reason for him to be there. Unfortunately one of the dourest programmes to be aired on television.
