Heidi and Spencer Tortured?

     I Am A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! has been on the air for about a week now. For those of you who have seen either this version or the British version know how the show works. For those of you who haven’t, basically “celebrities” are placed in the jungle in a survivor type of game hoping to win some money for their charity. 

     In the US version, it has seemed more scripted and planned then ever. Although, there are a few things that actually seem real, for the most part I have felt the show has been a huge disappointment. 

     Amongst the celebrities on the show are Heidi and Spencer from The Hills. From watching The Hills and just doing some casual on-line browsing we all know what kind of couple Heidi and Spencer are. Taking a look back at this past week of the show, we know that they had tried several times to leave the show. However, once again they tried to come back. As their punishment they needed to stay in an isolation chamber away from the others. 

     Shortly after getting out of the chamber Heidi became sick and was placed in the hospital. She suffered some sort of gastric ulcer and is now out of the hospital and staying in a hotel in Costa Rica. Reports are now out and about that the couple is claiming they were being tortured while they were in there. Claims are out saying that they spent 3 days in the chamber with no food and water and that insects were dropped into the chamber throughout their stay. The chamber was completely dark so they had no idea what was going on. 

     The shows rep has said that in no way, shape or form were Heidi and Spencer put in any sort of danger, they were in the chamber for 14 hours (most of which they slept) and that they were in there with both food and water. 

     So now the questions start to form. Is this another Heidi and Spencer ploy to gain some media attention or was there any truth to this torture claim? From the couples history we can see that Heidi and Spencer are money hungry and love the media. They know as long as they are creating some sort of buzz they are making money. Not only that, but a television company would not torture its contestants. This would apply to both celebrity or normal contestants. There would be huge lawsuits on their hands that they would not want to deal with. Plus they have an image to uphold. My guess is this story is complete fiction!
