Mystery: The Pick-Up Artist: How to Pick Up Women Revealed

First of all I do not believe it is ever in any mans best interest to “neg” a woman in a club or bar. If you listen closely to Tara as she comments on the show, she really is not fully supportive of the “neg” approach. She said she has worked as a “Hired Gun” as well said that usually nice guys have more success hooking up with her than guys who”neg”. She also warns the guys going into the grocery store not to “neg harshly”.

“Mystery” told the guys to neg the bikini models in the challenge. These guys have probably never had a girlfriend in their entire lives. It seems like something that a conceited good looking high rolling jerk that only cares about himself would do, not something for the “average Joe” .This approach is wrong on so many levels.

First of all the first impression this girl is going to have is you being an asshole. This is fine if the girl you are “negging” is into abusive guys. This is fine if you want to attract someone who has no self esteem. The reverse psychology behind this approach is to get the girl to feel bad about herself and then in turn needing instant validation of her beauty. This supposedly encourage the guy to “rebuild” the girl and tell her he really was kidding. This is just lame, tacky, weird, awkward and you are probably not going to score this way, however you may get slapped and have a drink dumped on you.

I know this is how me and my friends would react to a “neg”. It comes across as fake. I have had guys “neg” me before and usually the banter escalates into an argument. Girls are out to have a good time with their friends after a long week of work. I don’t care if you are a stripper or a lawyer you really shouldn’t insult strangers in an attempt to pick them up. Ever hear the phrase “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar?”

I worry for all those poor clueless guys out there following “Mystery’s” lead. The dating game is complex enough as it is and you some dude is going to walk up to you a nervous wreck and try out some corny “neg” because he saw it on the show. This angers me because guys are going to be doing this thinking that it works.

Let me just start by saying that I never ever kissed, gone home with and hooked up with any guy who has “negged”. This just screams desperation. Also women are very intuitive, we see through fake most of the time. This leaves room for confusion because most guys are not jerks. “Mystery” must think all gorgeous women are stupid.
