Reality Shows

Sure, there are many people who believe that reality TV began in more recent times, but a lot of us think that Allen Funt started it all with a 1948 TV series called “Candid Camera” and should be granted credit for this now ubiquitous phenomenon. Who will disagree that reality television is really the maximum watched show?

The programs that ran in the 50’s can solely be put in the category of reality TV. What other titles could be given to shows such as, “Truth or Consequences”, “To Tell the Truth”, or “What’s My Line?” Although some called them “game shows”, they were in actuality true reality TV.

During the course of time reality television has developed. From 1940 to 1950, this genre has grown.

Reality television is very, very big right now. Beginning with the super hit television show “Survivor” (which CBS televised), everyone seems to want to get in on the trend. If you have been living in difficult conditions: Watch “Survivor” which is a reality television program – or game show – documenting competitors staying together for thirty nine days in primitive surroundings. As they make efforts to put down each other and compete for the big prize – A “mil”; A million greenbacks -, competitors wind up using teamwork.

There are currently eight separate reality TV shows on each of the “big four” networks. (ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX). Those networks are not the only ones that felt the expansion of reality television.  Programs like “The Deadliest Catch” are real life shows that cable networks like to provide for the viewer who enjoys them.

The reality television have many subcategories which includes documentary, historical re-creations, science, dating, law enforcement, make-over shows, life style changing, fantasies, hidden camera, game, etc so that you can search for talents by paying .
