Has Simon gone too far with his U-Turn on The Twins?
Ok, ok, I admit, I watch the X-Factor and I am so bloody hooked that I am more ashamed than the time I drunkenly threw up over a five year old while looking for the bathroom. So the dangerously high alcohol blood level did take away much of my choice that time, but this time there is the famous Jed-flippin’-Ward. They too have taken away much of my choice.
Now, I realise that it make me a bit of a sap to be writing about them, but the sooner I do this, the sooner they will be off the brain and I can carry on with my life.
For starters, when John and Edward first arrived, I absolutely hated them, especially after they sang over that big-girl when they were broken up into groups. They came across as poor singers, arrogant and childish to the point of wishing to club them to death soiled nappies. I was absolutely astounded when they made it through to the group stages. Even more so when they made it to the live show after shoving each other midway through a performance in front of Ronan Keating, and at the expense of more talented acts.
The one thing that kept my attention however, was Simon’s hatred of them that mirrored the feeling of the nation. Then to my surprise, the nations hatred of Simon overtook that of The Twins and people began voting for them to STAY! Unbelievable. I had watched the first live show eagerly, waiting for the moment that they would be eliminated but it never came. Instead the nation had begun a campaign for Jedward for win the Factor! What bloody for? And what of those real talents that were getting ruthlessly disposed in their place?
Alas, rather than switching off in disgust, I huffed my cheeks and turned up the volume. This had become a real life drama in which dreams were being destroyed by the creature bulldozing the rest without a care in the world. I watched and watched for the time that Simon would come good on his words of loathing for The Twins which would see them on their way so I could sleep easy.
So imagine my shock, along with the rest of Britain, when Simon had his chance this Sunday just gone. Where in the palm of his hand he had the opportunity to eliminate all of those critics of the show saying that it was all fixed and that Simon himself was engineering the line of voting.
He blew it.
He opted to go down to the public vote which resulted in the top quality Lucie being eliminated, someone who could out-sing both Twins while on the bog and polishing off a McFlurry. Outrageous.
Simon has been shown for what he is, a cold-blooded businessman, who has no aim on the show apart from making as much money as he can at the expense of the lives of the innocent hopeful.
The show is not live, even when it is. It is a scripted drama whose real life stories are all lives, constructed to engage the public even further.
A fake fad that I can no longer enjoy watching, simply because I don’t like being manipulated.
But you have to admit, Simon is still a genius.
There, I can rest my worried little mind now…
Please, can you PM me and tell me few even more thinks about this, I’m genuinely fan of your blog…gets solved properly asap.
