Each of us are heroes in our own way; in this made-for-television series, every-man-is-a-hero takes on a whole new meaning.
I don’t like television; buying videos can get pretty expensive after a while; Netflix in the mail is great; but waiting can be a real pain. when I realized that for just a tiny bit more money per month I could have instant watch for some things, I was in heaven.
I watch Murder She Wrote for a bit; but then I found Heroes.
The series flows like a comic book. The characters are larger than life, the situations are improbably at best; character developement is minimal, and painted in broad strokes. It doesn’t *quite* do “Pow”, “Sock ‘em” during fight scenes, but the action scenarios are similarly melodramatic.
The main characters–and some of the minor ones–are gifted with special abilities. These abilities range from being able to heal completely from any injury to telepathy to…oh, but if I go on I’ll give a way the plot. You’ll want to watch these for yourself.
While each episode deals with world-threatening melodrama, it is sufficiently unreal to qualify as escapist literature. Season I is better than Season II, but Season III has recovered momentum. Since Season III is currently being shown on television, I am having to wait each week for the next episode.
Sure hope the season finale isn’t too big a cliff hanger!

Thank you for this – well explained
Well I’m a House nut right now, but I haven’t watched much TV lately.
Might try Heroes on DVD

Another good show. My husband and I watch this one too. Have you seen Medium on NBC? It is another good one.
Video-on-demand (where you pay only for what you watch, and watch whatever you want whenever you want) is definitely the future of television viewing.
I’ll still a DVD boxset loving gal though so I’ll prob watch Heroes in that format.
I enjoy heroes, nice article.
I haven’t seen “Hero’s “or heard of it. I can hardly find anything I like on TV. This might be the one I could enjoy.
Interesting! Haven’t seen it, but sounds enjoyable. Hah-like the Netflix image at the end, by the way.
