Role Model: Delia Banks of Ghost Whisperer

Delia Banks of Ghost Whisperer, is a role model for many reasons. She is a single mother raising a young adult on her own. After her husband died, she realized she needed to make money to raise her son so she got her real estate license and started selling homes. When she had the chance to take on a job she enjoyed, she took it, working in the antique store.

Delia enjoys her job and enjoys working for Melinda. She likes Melinda not just as a boss, but also as a friend. She often times will bring back coffee from the Java place if she happens to be going, and enjoys every occasionally sharing a lunch with Melinda.

True, it was not easy for her to get use to, and believe that Melinda Gordon could see dead people. That was very hard for her to accept, but she believed Melinda, and she accepted it. She also struggled when Charlie came back to see her and Ned before he crossed over. It is hard for her, but she is getting use to hearing the word ghosts. Delia doesn’t run out the door and think Melinda is strange because she says she talks to ghosts, she is willing to hear her out. She knows that even though she may not believe, Melinda does believe.

If Melinda needs help, Delia is always willing to contribute. She also tries to make sure her son Ned is brought up well mannered, and at times, keeps after him.

Delia started dating Tim Flaherty, who works with Jim Clancy, Melinda’s husband. Tim originally knew Charlie, and with a little help from Charlie, they were destined to be together. Delia is a homeless romantic. Before Tim, she wished she had what Jim and Melinda have together in terms of romance.

Delia is a very special person, and willing to do her best to make her life worth living.
