Admiral Thompson: “There’s been a devastating attack on Regula II.”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Scans show no life-signs whatsoever on the planet.”

Captain Theston: “That’s impossible! There were 250 Federation colonists living on that planet!”

Commander Gregory: “Captain, we’re suddenly receiving subspace interference from an unknown source in this sector.”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Romulan Warbird de-cloaking dead ahead!”

Commander Gregory: “RED ALERT!”

Romulan Sub-Commander: “Either leave this space at once or we will open fire!”

Captain Theston: “The Enterprise isn’t leaving until we’ve found those responsible for attacking Regula II and its colony.”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Captain, the Romulan Warbird has raised shields and is powering up its forward disruptor array.”

Commander Gregory: “They wouldn’t dare attack a Federation starship, would they? Doing so would be considered an act of war!”

Captain Theston: “All hands, BATTLESTATIONS!”

Rear Admiral Harris: “Admiral, reports indicate that two Romulan Warbirds appear to have de-cloaked near the edge of the Neutral Zone in Sector 413. The Challenger, Washington and Denmark appear to have been ambushed!”

Admiral Thompson: “I’m putting the entire fleet on a general battle-ready status. If they want a war, we’ll give them one they’ll NEVER forget!”

AND NOW THE CONCLUSION…

“Borders, Part II”

Captain Theston: “Return fire! Forward phasers!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Direct hit! Their forward shields are down to sixty percent!”

Captain Theston: “Quantum torpedoes! Full spread! FIRE!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Their forward shields are down to ten percent, Captain!”

Captain Theston: “Bring us about to heading 103.4! Target their forward disruptor banks!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Target locked, sir!”

Captain Theston: “Starboard phasers! FIRE!”

Captain Theston: “Bring us around and ready aft torpedoes!”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Sir, they’re firing again!”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Minor casualties on deck five! Shields holding at eighty percent!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Aft torpedoes locked on target!”

Captain Theston: “FIRE!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “Captain, their warp core is losing structural stability!”

Commander Gregory: “Helm, get us out of here – FULL IMPULSE!”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “The Warbird’s core reactor is about to breach!”

Commander Gregory: “All hands, brace for impact!”

***Sparks start flying everywhere all over the bridge***

Captain Theston: “Damage Report!”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Aft shields down to twenty-five percent! Three crewmen on Deck 14 were injured and have been transported to sickbay to receive immediate medical attention. Hull integrity holding at 75 percent. Minor damage to the port and starboard impulse reactors. Repair teams are enroute.”

Lieutenant-Commander Levers: “The Romulan Warbird has been destroyed, Captain!”

Captain Theston: *Sighs*

Commander Gregory: “I sincerely hope that’s the last time we have to fight the Romulans.”

Captain Theston: “Don’t count on it, Number One. Something tells me there’s more to this than meets the eye. Helm, do we still have Warp Drive?”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Yes, sir.”

Captain Theston: “Set a course back to Earth for repairs. Maximum warp.”

Lieutenant Hodgkins: “Course set and plotted.”

Captain Theston: “Engage!”

Meanwhile, in Sector 413 near the edge of the Neutral Zone…

Captain Reters: “Evasive maneuvers!”

Ensign Weathers: “They’re firing again, Captain!”

Commander Darrit: “Shields down to fifty percent! We can’t take much more of this!”

Captain Reters: “Photon torpedoes! Full spread, maximum yield! FIRE!”

Lieutenant Gopps: “Direct hit! Their shields are down!”

Captain Reters: “Reload the aft torpedo bays and fire again!”

Lieutenant Gopps: “Yes, sir!”

Captain Reters: “Bring us around 180 degrees and fire forward torpedoes! Target their warp core!”

Ensign Weathers: “The lead Warbird is losing hull integrity!”

Captain Reters: “Hard to starboard!”

Commander Darrit: “It’s been destroyed! The others are retreating back to Romulan space!”

Ensign Weathers: “We made it!”

Lieutenant Gopps: “Captain, we’re receiving an incoming communication from Starfleet Command.”

Captain Reters: “On screen.”

Admiral Thompson: “Well done, Captain! Our long range scans shows Warbirds from all over the Alpha Quadrant retreating back into Romulan space! We don’t know why, but it seems as if they’ve called off this war of theirs. At least for now, anyways. Report back with the rest of the fleet to Starbase 612 for repairs.”

Captain Reters: “Understood, Admiral. Reters out.”

Commander Darrit: “Lieutenant, send a message to the Washington and the Denmark. Tell them to assume standard fleet formation and follow us back to Starbase 612 at Warp 4.

Lieutenant Gopps: “Message sent and acknowledged by both Captains.”

Captain Reters: “Then take us back home, Ensign. Engage!”

Somewhere in the Romulan Star Empire…

…: “The Federation was supposed to lose Regula II! We were supposed to have gained some ground along the Neutral Zone! And just when we have a chance at winning, you recall us back into Romulan territory!?”

…: “We encountered a minor setback…Nothing we couldn’t handle…Apparently, the Federation starship Enterprise destroyed one of our Warbirds near Regula II.”

…: “Forget about the Enterprise! We would’ve gained control of two new sectors if you hadn’t recalled us when you did!”

…: “I’m sick of retreating back into our own territory! We should take the entire fleet and initiate an all-out offensive against the Federation RIGHT NOW!”

…: “You IDIOT! That would be extremely foolish! The Romulan Star Empire can’t hold its own if the Klingons decide to aid the Federation!”

…: “ENOUGH, EVERYONE! If my new plan succeeds, the entire galaxy will be under the control of the Romulan Star Empire! And not even the Enterprise or its mighty Federation will be able to stop us this time!”
