Akb48- What is It? (1)

For those of you who live in Japan, you must have heard of the name, AKB48. It is an idol group created by a famous producer, Akimoto Yasushi in December 2005. Akimoto Yasushi has made many famous TV shows in Japan. Their motto is, “会いにいけるアイドル”　which means, and idol group that you can meet everyday. In other words, the fans are able to have very close relationships with the members. AKB48 performs on stage everyday, at Akihabara. And also, they got their name taking the letters from Akihabara. The numbers 48 are were from the memebers in it, but since it has increased to more than 100, this does not mean anything.

Now, AKB is made up from 4 different teams, A, K, B, and a trainee team.  A,K, and B consists of about 20 members each. The trainee team has about 60 members in it, which is quite a lot. One team goes on stage per day, and get a salary for each performance they do. Talking about salaries, they do not get paid well, but the members do not care because AKB48 is only just a stool for them to achieve their dreams, like actresses and singers.
