Well, NBC has announced that they are giving Parks and Recreations another season…oh, and the Celebrity Apprentice.
I’m beginning to think that they have already made a decision on Chuck and that with all the publicity it has gotten, what with all the fans sending in boxes of Nerds, buying Subway for the season finale, sending emails, etc, that they have decided to ride the wave. Unfortunately, that just pisses us loyal fans off. Seriously, they can bring back Parks and Recreations in good conscience? I did try that show. It tries too hard to be The Office, but isn’t there. I can’t seem to get too excited about the characters.
Life has officially been cancelled. I think it’s a shame. It’s a well-written show and enjoyable. But then again, that is probably what killed it. Southland has been given a chance to grow, which is fine, but I do wonder what time slot they plan on placing it, what with the All Leno, all the time approach. The show has potential, but for anything other than a 10:00 pm slot, they are going to have to tone it down some.
There are a slew of new shows coming on board, but I’m really not sure I want to invest any time to any of them. Well, I lie. There is the new Joel McHale show with Chevy Chase called Community about a lawyer who goes back to community college and forms a study group. Not sure about the show itself, but hello! It’s got Joel McHale of Talk Soup fame. I gotta say, I really love that show and it would never be as great without him. So I’m willing to maybe think about watching it. The other shows are all the same old thing. Medical dramas, Day One, which is a apocalyptic drama with David Lyons. I hated him as Dr. Brenner on ER, he really annoyed the crap out of me, not too sure I’ll even bother with this one. And of course, more reality shows than you can shake a stick at. I personally would kill the stupid reality shows and that would leave plenty of hours left for real shows. But then again, I actually like to be entertained and watching people scheme, stab each other in the back and have sex with everyone else, whine and complain are not idea of fun. Oh and let’s not forget the revamping of Parenthood, which has already been done once, years ago.
So in a nutshell, Chuck, Medium, and Law and Order: SVU are still on the bubble. Apparently we get to wait til May 19th or so to hear about them. If I could just have an hour with the Powers that Be….
