Ghosts on Television Part 3: Ten Reasons Why You Should Watch Psychic Kids, Children of the Paranormal

This is part three of a three part series on paranormal television shows. Here are ten reasons why you should watch the new paranormal show called Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal, starring famous psychic medium Chip Coffey.

Where: A & E

When: TBD: This show has not been picked up yet for next season. But hopes are very high that it will be. You can find the original episodes on A&E and their affiliate stations, so check your local listings. If you find it, watch it!

Starring: Psychic Medium Chip Coffey & Professor, Dr. Lisa Miller

10) Locations

Each show features at least three children and their families. In order to bring them all together a very specific neutral location is selected for everyone to meet. These locations become part of the show and are critical to its success, because each one chosen is well known for its paranormal activity.

These sites allow Chip Coffey to analyze each child’s psychic abilities. He puts them to the test on several occasions asking them to open up to whatever spirits are present. They all work together and compare notes, which helps prove their psychic gifts are real.

Sometimes they openly talk about what they are sensing, and other times he asks them to draw or write down what is coming to them. The point here is to begin to empower the children and help them realize they can manage and control their abilities. It is incredibly amazing to witness each child come out with the same information their new mentor is receiving.

9) Ghost Hunting

Besides having sit-down sessions with the children, Chip takes the children on what can be described as a spirit or ghost hunt. Together they explore the building and grounds in search of spirit activity. This is yet another forum that allows the children to put their abilities and gifts to work. By doing so it brings further validation to what they are experiencing. Again Chip compares what they are getting to what he is sensing, which helps them realize they are not just imagining things.

8) Guest Appearances

Like all effective and responsible professionals, Chip and Lisa know when to call upon their peers for help. Realizing they need assistance in helping these children, is most definitely proof of their desire and need to help them. It also legitimizes how serious these situations are. To their credit, they do not hesitate to reach out.

A perfect example of this was when Tiffany Johnson, another psychic medium, was called upon for assistance. The feeling at the time was Tiffany had something unique and special to bring to the table, in working with a few of these children, to help legitimize their abilities. By using a few specific challenges she helped prove a young girl had the ability to detect physical ailments and possible healing powers. The entire segment was truly amazing.

This again adds validity and credibility to the show.

7) Parents

These cases also include the troubled parents. The abilities their children possess are not common, so the parents struggle just as much as the children when it comes to coping with what is going on. At times they don’t know what to believe, and for sure they do not know what to do.

Like their children they feel hopeless, helpless, and terrified. There is no worse feeling for a parent than not knowing how to fix a child’s problem. They are in desperate need of guidance and therapy. Chip and Dr. Miller do a tremendous job of educating these parents and making them understand that what the child is experiencing is real. Then they work together applying their skills and knowledge to teach them effective coping skills to help their child.

At times, this is a tougher task than dealing with the children.

6) Friendships

One of the main reasons several children are featured in a show is to help prove to them that they are not alone. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are the norm for kids who discover they have psychic abilities. Quite often they are vilified by their friends, teachers, other adults, their siblings and even their parents. Your heart cannot help but go out to these children.

As the show progresses you see friendships being created between all of the children involved. They begin to help and comfort each other throughout the process. By the end of the show they develop and incredible bond, and each one promises the keep in touch for friendship, comfort and support. As a result these kids no longer feel alone.

5) Transformation

At the beginning of each show you get a glimpse into what the lives of these children are like before they start this incredible journey. It is plain to see how terrified, lonely, isolated and helpless they feel. At times it can be quite disturbing. No one likes to see a child suffer like that.

As the show progresses you see in an incredible transformation take place. Their confidence grows as they become more and more comfortable with their abilities. They are taught that they are not cursed, but blessed with unique and wonderful skills that can be turned into positive powers to help others, even those that have passed on.

4) Dr. Lisa Miller

Dr. Lisa Miller is a clinical psychologist with a PhD from Columbia University, who works extensively with children. She is a very talented and rare breed of therapist who takes on clients who are affected by the paranormal. For the past ten years she has worked with kids who demonstrate psychic and paranormal abilities, in communicating with those that have passed on.

She clearly understands the horrifying fear and isolation that psychic children deal with when they discover and want to share their abilities. Usually the child’s claims are dismissed as imagination or lies by both friends and family, which causes them to shut down. This creates incredible conflict in their relationships with both parents and friends.

Dr. Miller plays a duel role in trying to assist both the children and their families. Through her own experiences and client history, she helps legitimize the powerful gifts that have been bestowed upon these children. By proving these abilities are real, she can then focus on counseling the children and their parents. She does this carefully in both group and individual sessions, where she hones in on teaching them the proper coping skills needed to deal with these phenomena. This allows the children to lead healthy and productive lives with normal loving relationships.

She is the perfect compliment to Chip Coffey, as she skillfully brings together the world of psychic mediums and the world of psychology.

3) Chip Coffey

Chip Coffey is one of the most famous and well-respected psychic mediums in the industry. In this show, he easily proves why. He skillfully utilizes both his psychic abilities and Masters Degree in Psychology to effectively help children who are showing signs of psychic medium abilities.

Chip knows from experience what a lifelong burden these abilities can be, so he approaches the cases with great care and responsibility. He warmly embraces the opportunities presented to him and performs his own effective tests to ensure what these children are experiencing is real. By sharing his own abilities and legitimizing theirs, he quickly makes them feel less afraid of both their gifts and the spirits they come in contact with.

He then strategically works with the children both as a group and individually teaching them to control and manage their psychic abilities and the spirits, so they can lead normal and productive lives. He calls this empowerment. His teachings include how to use these gifts safely and effectively.

Chip has a God given gift to reach children spiritually and emotionally. He is so incredibly sincere and effective that both the children and their parents hinge on every word he says. There is an indescribable charm about Chip Coffey. He is very caring and affectionate towards these young clients, and his honesty is refreshing and well received. You can always tell that in his heart he is not satisfied unless he truly helps these children.

2) They’re Just Kids

There are many well-known, credible and respected psychic mediums out there. These professionals have established themselves in the industry by time and time again proving their validity and credibility through such things as individual readings, gallery readings, and ghost hunts. The ones you know of and see are adults.

Watch this show and it is guaranteed that within the first fifteen minutes you will say this quote more than once. “They’re just kids!”

That is exactly right. They are just kids! But, their abilities are real. To watch such young people put out information throughout the show that legitimizes their psychic abilities is truly amazing.

However, at the same time your heart aches for them as they struggle to function as normal children. But, as the show progresses their burden is lifted, as Chip Coffey and Dr. Lisa Miller guide them out of the darkness and into the light of a happy and loving childhood.

1) Dare to be different

This is a very bold and brave show that dares to be different. Quite simply, there is no other television show like this. This show is not just about the paranormal and the search for ghosts and spirits. It’s much more than that.

Psychic Kids takes you on a mesmerizing and mysterious journey that combines the worlds of the paranormal, psychic mediums, psychology, and education to skillfully help children who are demonstrating psychic abilities.

At a young age, without proper knowledge, coping skills and information these gifts can be a very difficult burden to carry. Chip Coffey and Dr. Lisa Miller know that. So, they set out to do every thing in their power to empower these children to manage their abilities, not be afraid and take their lives back.

As you know any show that deals with helping kids can open itself up to scrutiny. They realize this as well, but throw caution to the wind. The reason is they know how important it is for these children to live normal and productive lives. And in the end the results are astounding.

Conclusion

This is by far the most unique, bold and daring paranormal show out there. The worlds of psychic abilities, paranormal, ghost hunting, psychology and education are brought together to assist children who are exhibiting signs of psychic abilities

Chip Coffey and Dr. Lisa Miller lead you on a mystical journey with some very special and gifted children. The road starts off rough, as you can fee the pain these children and their families are suffering. But, by the end of the show you are smiling and at times shedding tears of relief, as Chip and Lisa guide these kids to a positive place, as they learn to turn what feels like something negative into something productive and positive.

Whether you are a fan of the paranormal or not, this is a must see show.
