House, or House MD, is an American television drama that consists of medical mysteries and comedy-drama . This fantastic show made by the two co-creators, David Shore and Paul Attanasio, was released on Fox network on November 16 2004. Fox officially gives credit to Shore as the creator.
The show’s focus is on the character Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) an arrogant anti-social medical genius. A team of diagnosticians is led by House, and they consist of Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer), Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and Eric Foreman (Omar Epps). Foreman resigns in the 3rd season, along with Chase getting fired and Cameron resigning due to her love for him. Foreman resigned because he did not want to become as evil and a jerk as House, but not a few weeks later he comes back to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. That is the hospital House works in and where the story is filmed. After Foreman’s return, House hired 40 fellowships, firing each slowly until he settles with 3, Dr. Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn), Remy “Thirteen” Hadley (Olivia Wilde), Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson). Along with Foreman, the other characters from the first few seasons still appear due to Cameron’s working in the ER and Chase being part of the surgical department. A few episodes from the end of season 5, Kutner is then killed by either himself or an accident.
House often conflicts with his boss, Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), and his team, because many of his theories are based on his view of the world. House thinks everybody lies about everything, drug use, alcohol, affairs, and that people can never trust each other so they hide things from their friends and families. House has only one true friend, Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of oncology, but during the beginning of Season 5 Wilson tells House that he is going to resign and says to House that they’re not friends anymore. But a few episodes after, Wilson realizes that he loves House all too much so he decides to stay.
House is critically acclaimed and has high viewership ratings. It was among the top ten rated shows in the United States from its second through its fourth season; in the 2008–09 season, it fell to nineteenth overall. Distributed to 66 countries, Housewas the most watched television program in the world in 2008. The show has received several awards, including a Peabody Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and three Primetime Emmy Awards. House has aired for five seasons; it has been renewed for a sixth, which will begin with a two-hour premiere on September 21, 2009
