Unfortunately, last week we had to say goodbye to Felicity Kendal as the public still enjoyed the entertaining but heavy footed ex MP Ann Widdecombe. This week we were back down from the northern seaside resort of Blackpool to the studio in London.
We were now down to seven contestants. Actresses Kara Tointon and Patsy Kensit; actor Scott Maslen; TV presenter Matt Baker; comedienne/now psychologist Pamela Stephenson; rugby player Gavin Henson; and Ann Widdecombe.
After this week’s show I was sure that Kara and Matt would go through to next week and was of the mind that Pamela Stephenson and Scott Maslen may stay, but, although I hoped Ann Widdecombe would be voted off this week, I was unsure about Patsy and Gavin.
Kara danced the Jive this week.
She’s an incredible dancer and, based on this, she certainly deserves to go through to the finals.
Matt Baker danced the American smooth and again, I was convinced that, despite some unusually scathing remarks from the judges, Matt would be going through to next week.
Scott Maslen this week didn’t seem to be quite on form and lost his footing during his American smooth, but he’s popular with the public and I was convinced the public would stand by him for another week.
Gavin Henson’s jive somehow seemed a little lacklustre and I had a feeling that he may be in the bottom three.
Pamela Stephenson danced the Charleston incredibly well. The routine was brilliant fun and I could most definitely see Pamela going through to next week.
Patsy Kensit this week danced the Argentine tango but, despite it being beautifully executed, I missed the kicks and flicks which we’ve seen in previous weeks from other contestants.
Ann Widdecombe, as usual, came out and entertained everybody. This week we saw her version of Titanic! I would suggest that if you watch the dance, you continue to the end of the comments on this video – the comments and banter are hilarious!
Who would be voted off in the results show? I thought this week it would be either Patsy and Gavin, unless the public suddenly turned against Anton du Beke’s comic genius choreography with Ann Widdecombe.
Gavin Henson managed to hold on by the skin of his teeth and, once again, Ann Widdecombe was a hit with the public, so regrettably actress Patsy Kensit was the latest one to pack her bags.
So, in summary, we’re left with six contestants. I still feel that Kara and Matt will be through the finals without too much difficulty, and Scott and Pamela may well get through but I can, at some stage, see Gavin and Ann disappearing, but the way the public are voting at the moment, it’s anyone’s guess!
