Television in 3D in 2010
Well the title says it all folks, 3d isn’t just for movies theaters its now going to be for your own TV.
ESPN and Discovery announced plans Tuesday to launch the industry’s first 3D television networks. ESPN planned to release its network in the summer while Discovery is planing to release theirs in 2011.
The addition of 3d television will have some downsides like:
-The Price; (If you complain about the cost of HD Chanel’s then this isn’t for you.) 3d programming would make the channels more expensive because of the higher cost required to film the shows.
-Might ruin other industries; If you could see your favourite sports team play in 3d then why would you want to see them play at an arena unless you want to support the team and for the feeling of being their.
-Would increase obesity; If you are over weight then you probably are a little lazy and rather watch TV at home (especially if its in 3D) and only go outside when needed.
-New TV; If your TV is old then you might have to get a new one that supports 3D programming.
The upsides would be:
-3D television; it would be an entire new twist to a lot of sport fan’s lifestyles.
-Revolutionize Home Entertainment; Imagine seeing something and hearing something as if its really their all in the comfort of your own home.
-Would make sporting events more popular; It would make watching sports on TV more entertaining because of the extra depth the 3D would bring. (excuse my pun)
-Increase profit in the TV industry; it would make a lot of folks want to have a new TV with 3D capabilities.
I personally would love to see TV in 3D, it would in turn inspire Game Producers to create games in 3D. Well we shall how good this really is, in the summer of 2010 of course.

By 3D I’m guessing you’ll need glasses. And for a company to have to send out a few pairs of 3D glasses when you subscribe, it seems silly. Especially when you invite all your friends over to watch the game and they get the weird blue and red blur. I don’t see this working well.
And on the point of stay at home for same experience, real fans go for the atmosphere, the feeling of being with others who agree with sporting team choices.
No, by 3d I mean “with out the glasses” and your TV can support rendering in 3d that why I was excited. I think it will probably be some rendering technique done by the TV. Even no if you place a special plastic on the screen it can work with out the glass; but I think the screen only works with 3d and would screw up normal TV.
