Star Trek. To boldly go where no fool has gone before. Okay, that’s not the right line, but maybe it should be for these ten videos that spoof the television and film science fiction series.
Spock suicide hotline
Spock working at a suicide hotline call center. What could go wrong? A whole lot, as a matter of fact. Though Spock the Vulcan is a favorite character of many, he’s not exactly a touchy-feely kind of guy, thus making him probably not the best choice to work at a suicide hotline.
Oh, that Jean-Luc Picard!
A pretty good editor has combined some Star Trek: The Next Generation footage with scenes from another movie starring Patrick Stewart for some … uh, interesting effects. Enjoy!
I’m Star Trek, I’m Star Wars
This video spoofs not only Star Trek, but also Star Wars and those “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” television commercals. To add to the hilarity, the whole video is done with action figures.
Shatner shows Chris Pine how to be Kirk
Taken from an episode of the television show Frank TV, this skit has Frank portraying Shatner on the set of the new Star Trek movie and giving tips, and more than tips (ha! ha!) about playing Captain James T. Kirk. And of course Shatnerhas plenty of other advice, and has to bring his own special Shatner touch.
Star Track VI: Khan is Alive (Part 1)
It looks like a group of friends got together and put together a homegrown version of Star Trek. The acting is bad. So bad, it makes William Shatner look like a good actor. But the bad acting, bad dialogue and bad sets make this an interesting and comedic video. Check out the awful special effects of the space ships floating on string.
Star Trek: The Purposely Lost Voyages
Another video of a group of friends who got together to shoot a Star Trek spoof. I love the cheesy sets that look like they were set up in someone’s living room or shot in someone’s backyard. And check out the simply awful costumes and acting! All done on purpose and in good fun.
The Sims 3 Star Trek parody
This is a parody of a Star Trek movie teaser commercial done in the video game The Sims 3. Actually, I think it’s done pretty well, with some decent editing. The talkover voice is kind of goofy and the fight scene at the end is also goofy, but that’s to be expected from a Sims game.
Kirk checks out hot girls
This spoof has some adult humor, so you’ve been warned. The costumes look pretty good, and the special effects aren’t bad though you can tell they’re computer generated. My favorite part is the words “Klingon Sucks!” painted on the side of the Enterprise.
Bill Gates as a borg
Kind of funny in a creepy kind of way. Imagine Bill Gates after being assimilated by the borg, done realistically. Yes, that kind of creepy. But sort of funny, too.
Massive ownage!
Not really a spoof, but a collection of still images with funny words tacked on. Has interesting music. Some of these photos and their messages will make you laugh out loud. Lots of adult language here, however, so not for the kids.
